WE NEED TO STAND UP TO DEVELOPMENT
THAT WILL DESTROY
OUR BEAUTIFUL REGION.

Not all development is evil. But development that is undertaken by one party to make money off the success and popularity of our region, is not in the best interests of the region.

Development should be carefully considered and planned in consideration of the entire region. Not just that a developer can make a quick buck off carving up valuable farmland. Or a large corporation can take advantage of a vacant block and want to bring a large retail chain in to capitalise on the decades and decades of hard work by locals and community to turn this town into the wonderful sought-after destination that it is.

It could be argued, that the Council should be managing the overall future development of our region. But over the past 5-10 years, our Council has either been not motivated, willing and/or experienced (aka capable) of managing this and whilst our new Councillors are much more motivated, we need to step up to the plate and take control of our own future.

Many towns and communities have a Chamber of Commerce that often can step in on larger matters but we just have a whole lot of committed citizens - and this website will hopefully allow us all to pool our resources, defend our town against greedy developers who are only interested in profit margins as well as developing innovative, sound and sustainable ideas for the future of our region.

We can’t just argue against development. We have to have a plan that our local and state governments can support and help implement.
